Abloy UK has announced two new additions to its Critical Infrastructure (CI) division, broadening the skills and experience within the team and reinforcing its position in the industry.
David Rock and Rob Turner have been appointed as Market Development Managers for Critical Infrastructure at Abloy, with David specialising in Transport and Rob targeting the Communications sector.
David will have a focus on logistics, UK ports and airports and brings 13 years’ experience to the role, having previously worked in the industrial sector with products including door systems.
Well versed in liaising with end users, contractors and architects, David is keen to develop relationships with key decision makers and influencers in the Transport sector to discuss critical issues and how Abloy solutions can help.
David explained: “It’s vital that I understand individual needs within different departments of a business, so we can tailor bespoke solutions to help collectively address all of challenges they face.
“Often, they know they’ve got a problem but don’t know a solution exists, whether that’s to do with asset management or minimising risk. We work in partnership with our clients and offer trust and peace of mind to exceed their expectations.
“Abloy is known for innovation and the solutions we provide are pioneering and address the evolving needs of security – whether physical, digital, or a combination of the two – to future-proof access control and security.”
Rob has over 20 years’ sales experience, most recently with a time and attendance hardware and software provider. This role gave him a consultative approach to software and a strong understanding of issues in this field such as duplication of data and the need for integration.
He’s keen to use this knowledge to build relationships and engage with people in the Communications sector, including mobile network operators, tower companies, ISP providers and data centres as well as postal services and digital media providers.
Rob comments: “We’ve seen Telecoms companies catapulted 5-10 years ahead of where they were predicted thanks to the pandemic, but often we see that although they may have many disparate sites and assets across the UK, security isn’t front of mind.
“However, asset management and controlling infrastructure is crucial in this sector and it’s important for me to speak to people at all levels in a business – whether that’s an end user, sub-contractor or another influencer – to fully understand the issues they face around security and explain how Abloy solutions can help.
“BEAT is a product that I’m especially excited about for my particular industry, its set to be a massive success. BEAT is a keyless solution that combines a digital key, a mobile app and a heavy-duty, Bluetooth padlock, offering flexible access rights and audit trails amongst a raft of other features.”
Steve Wintle, Head of CNI at Abloy UK added: “We’re really pleased to have Rob and David on board and their appointments strengthen our commitment to expanding our expertise across the UK’s Critical infrastructure, reinforcing our market leading position as the first choice for high-security solutions.
“We’d like to give them a very warm welcome to the team and look forward to utilising their trusted expertise to better serve our clients in the Transport and Telecoms sectors.”
