Access Security Solutions: A new era in security begins

As it celebrates its 10th anniversary, Access Security Products is thrilled to unveil a new name – Access Security Solutions.  

Over the past decade, the company has grown and evolved, driven by its commitment to provide customers with exceptional solutions and services.

“Access Security Solutions better reflects our growth and our vision for the future. Our new brand also includes a new logo, and a sleek, user-friendly website designed to enhance your experience with us,” said Access Security founder and MD, Jim Foster.

Access Solutions Solutions: Foster sat down to answer a series of questions that reveal what was behind his business decision to make these changes.

Can you share some insights on how the company has evolved over the past decade?

A little over 10 years ago, I started Access Security Products sharing premises with my cousin. I had one office, a desk, a mobile phone and a modest mission to provide products and services to a few customers, so that I could pay the mortgage and have the odd holiday. The journey since the early days has been amazing. Ruth joined in June 2018 before we moved to new premises later that year. Since then, we haven’t looked back, steadily increasing our staffing levels and workspace. Whilst we have had to evolve over the years to overcome challenges, the biggest change is in myself, with the lessons learnt along the way, I’m now leading one of the best teams in the industry as we continue to grow and develop each day.

Can you tell us more about the refurbishment of the premises and how it will benefit your company?

The investment in the premises has enabled us to hold more stock. We also now have space for a dedicated technical room. The old stores have been transformed into a training room where product tuition will be delivered both by ourselves and our partners. This is complimented by our meeting room which will enable us to discuss requirements and demonstrate our solutions as we look to confirm our suitability as a partner. Oh, and not forgetting the new reception area where we can have a relaxed coffee and catch up. Wow, we really have been busy!

What message do you want to send by rebranding and what encouraged this change?

Our rebranding is a celebration of our 10th year anniversary and reflects our growth as a company, as individuals and as a team. The name change from Access Security Products to Access Security Solutions has played on my mind, however, I have been constantly reminded by my team that we do more than shift a product, we offer solutions as well, and changing the company’s name relays this message. Together we trust that the new name alongside the fresh new branding represents the message that we are professional, reliable, trustworthy and approachable. Finally, we want our new brand identity to resonate with our partners and their collaboration with us.

Can you elaborate on the Value Added Services (VAS) that you’re offering, such as pre-programmed solutions?

Our Value Added Services are designed to provide customers with a truly personal service, an extra touch that shows we care. The services vary depending on the needs of the customer and product; for example, our pre-programmed Farfisa products reduce time spent on site, by on average 50%, it also virtually eliminates “out of the box faults” and lowers costs and guarantees a hassle-free installation. Another example is PAC access control where we will programme controllers and fobs before dispatch, we can even help manage the sites moving forward. The final example is our bespoke metal works where we can     fabricate a tailormade solution to your specific requirements.

How do you see the future of the security industry, and what role do you envision your company playing in that future?

The electronic security industry is constantly changing to meet demand. We see a future where security systems are smarter and more intuitive. With new, social housing and economic growth at the top of the political agenda, we believe the demand for cost-effective and reliable products is only set to increase. Our role is to be at the forefront of these demands, working with our partners we will look to offer an honest and appropriate solution, at a price that’s on point with unrivalled levels of customer satisfaction.

What advice would you give to other businesses looking to achieve similar growth and success?

My advice would be to be honest and fair. We treat everyone as partners, including customers, suppliers and even our courier drivers. Put your clients first by understanding their needs and frustrations. To deliver success and growth, your biggest investment and asset is without question – the staff.  Empower the team around you and you will create a company culture that encourages creativity, feeds positivity and leads to growth – “Inspire others and let others inspire you”.

What is your overall reflection on the past decade and what are your hopes for the future?

As I reflect on the past decade, I am humbled and grateful for the support of our customers, suppliers, partners, my team and friends who have helped along the way. Their trust and cooperation have been so important to our growth and success. As I look ahead, I am excited about the future and the opportunities it holds. I look forward to continuing this journey together and achieving even greater milestones in the years to come.
