Independent fire safety and security specialist, Amthal, has led a team to complete the three peaks challenge in 24 hours, raising over £12,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.

The team of eight, who all grew up together in St Albans, and now for the majority operate within the fire security and security industry, completed the three peaks challenge, with Amthal providing all the transport.

Travelling a total of 1,154 miles, the team walked 23 miles and ascended over 3,064m, (10,052ft.). Starting at Ben Nevis, the second mountain climbed was Scafell Pike, leaving Snowdon as the final destination before returning home.

Jamie Allam, CEO Amthal Fire & Security who also took part in the challenge said: “This was a massive team effort, but surrounded by my strong family and friends, the banter was great and we kept our spirits up through the walk and the ascents.  Seeing the beautiful scenery along the way certainly helped.

“The true icing on the cake is the significant money raised for Prostate Cancer UK. With one of the team member’s step-father battling the horrible disease, it is a charity that is very close to all of our hearts and we know the more we can do together, the better for all of us. We are so grateful for all the donations and support we have received.”

Prostate Cancer UK is a registered charity that aims to create a future where lives are not limited by prostate cancer. “We unite the brightest minds in science and healthcare and the most passionate and caring people to help men live long and live well. We do this because we have a big problem.”

There is still time to donate and support the St Albans bid to complete the Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours. Please visit our live just giving page: www.justgiving.com
