barox promote cyber-secure, PoE Ethernet ‘Switches made for Video’ at CONSEC 2022

September 29, 2022

barox Kommunikation AG, the global manufacturer of professional standard switches, media converters and IP extenders specifically designed for video applications, will be exhibiting at the Association of Security Consultants’ CONSEC 2022, 13 October, Twickenham Stadium.

To support security professionals and system operators, barox will be showing their range of managed and unmanaged industrial switches that cater for the specific demands of video and PoE heavy applications and feature extensive cyber security functions that protect both the switch and network traffic. Featuring extensive management options, when using barox Ethernet switches, even the most complex of network requirements can be met. Advanced barox managed switch capabilities also include active camera and PoE monitoring and active integration via switch modules for easy integration to popular VMS control.

At CONSEC, barox will also be revealing their new RY-LPITE-422XGME 10Gbits DIN Rail, L2+ managed GbE PoE+ switch. The next-generation switch offers powerful L2 and basic L3 features, with better functionality and usability, as well as extensive management features, via its user-friendly embedded barox Device Managed System (DMS).

Importantly for network engineers, the RY-LPITE-442XGME features 4×10/100/1000TX PoE+, 4×10/100/1000TX PoE++ ports (802.3at/af/bt and total up to 381W), 2 x10GbE SFP+ ports and an RJ45 console port, to deliver high performance and environment flexibility for any industrial application.

Integrated solutions

Promoting ease and depth of integration with third party VMS control, with more simple, quicker and lower-cost installations, barox supports flexible systems integration with their Smart-barox plugins, for Milestone, MOBOTIX and advancis. barox integration delivers enhanced diagnostic data, showing the status of cameras and switches and allowing the fast pinpointing of network/device issues. For example, if a network camera fails to respond, barox switches can be used to select a device and send a re-boot command.

“We’re looking forward to meeting CONSEC delegates who would like to learn more about industrial managed and unmanaged Ethernet switches that support more simple, quicker and lower-cost installations, along with robust PoE power,” says Sarah Moss, barox Sales Manager UK & EIRE. “With the demand for increasingly more powerful PoE devices, such as dome and all-in-one PTZ cameras, the barox range supports 802.3bt, with PoE power up to 90W. In addition, for peace-of-mind, all barox Ethernet switches are designed to meet the specific operational and performance demands of CCTV surveillance, employing innovations that guarantee greater customer security and for the installer, easy set-up and integration into leading VMS control software.”
