A global cyber security solutions provider has announced Seamus McCorry as the new Country Manager for Check Point Ireland.
Following Check Point’s sustained success in Ireland, most recently in securing the cyber posture within the market’s move towards digital adoption, McCorry will use this as the foundations to continue to grow the region.
With over 20 years’ experience in IT sales and business development, McCorry comes to Check Point after serving as Regional Director & Head of Business Sales Northern Ireland at Virgin Media O2.
He has also held senior leadership positions at Vodafone and BT. In his new role at Check Point Software, he will use his expertise, knowledge of the local market and hands-on approach to enable Check Point’s Irish team to thrive.
Check Point has more than 170 employees in UK and Ireland who work with over 300 partners across the region, to protect customers from ever-growing cyber threats; according to Check Point Research, companies in Ireland experienced, on average, 886 cyberattacks per week over the last six months, with healthcare the most targeted industry.
According to Check Point’s Mid-Year report, ransomware is the number one threat to businesses.
McCorry said: “It’s fantastic to be leading Check Point’s Irish team. I’m looking forward to building new relationships in the market, addressing the challenges of both customers and partners, while helping companies across Ireland to improve their cyber resilience in the cloud, the network and their endpoints, and growing Check Point’s market share.”
“Seamus’ experience in driving business growth is impressive, not just from a revenue point of view but also in employee development and wellbeing,” said Adam Bradley, Regional Director, UK&I at Check Point Software. “He is a positive, authentic and passionate leader, and we stand to benefit so much from having him on board.”
Check Point Software Technologies was recently recognized as the Best Cyber Security Employer in the Forbes World’s Best Employers 2021 list. Its unified security architecture is supported by real time threat intelligence and addresses the large-scale multi vector Gen V attacks of today.
