February 10, 2021

It has recently been confirmed that the Police Digital Security Centre (PDSC) is partnering with Cyber Tec Security in a move designed to encourage UK SME’s to invest in their cyber security practices.

Cyber Tec Security

Cyber Tec Security are a certifying body for UK Government Cyber Essentials standard. The company’s mission – like that of the PDSC – is to help every SME in the UK to become more cyber safe and secure.

Cyber Tec Security assess, report and issue the Cyber Essentials certificates using an affordable, reliable, competent and trustworthy solution. Once clients have been certified, the company tackle the remaining 20% of cyber risk with ongoing Cyber Essentials compliance, as well as further detect and protect solutions.

Cyber Tec Security are an IASME Certifying Body and offer 100% Remote Assessments and a 24 hour Certification Process.

In support of the new distribution partnership and Digitally Aware certification, Cyber Tec Security will help the PDSC to promote and distribute the Digitally Aware scheme to SMEs across the UK.

PDSC’s Digitally Aware scheme

The PDSC, in collaboration with the British Standards Institution (BSI), manage a certification scheme aimed at helping businesses test their resilience to the most common types of cyber crime and work towards better cyber security.

Based on the National Cyber Security Centre’s Small Business Guide, the Digitally Aware scheme sits below Cyber Essentials and focuses on the most basic control measures that every business should have in place.

Digitally Aware is a fully automated online platform giving businesses an opportunity to test their resilience to the most common types of cyber crime, as well as providing access to a range of resources that can help them improve their cyber security posture.

The Digitally Aware certification can be completed in just 15 minutes.

“Shared mission with PDSC, IASME, NCSC and GCHQ”

Mike Ralston CEO, Cyber Tec Security, said of the partnership: “The addition of the PDSC’s ‘Digitally Aware’ certification will further support cyber resilience and awareness for the UK’s SME’s, and is an excellent stepping-stone to Cyber Essentials. Our shared mission with PDSC, IASME, NCSC and GCHQ is to uplift the nation’s SME’s to at least 80% cyber risk reduction through assessment and certification.”

Michelle Kradolfer, Cyber Development Officer at the PDSC, added: “We are delighted to have Cyber Tec Security as our first distribution partner for our certification scheme, Digitally Aware. PDSC and Cyber Tec Security share the vision of wanting to support UK SMEs reduce their vulnerability to cyber crime and become more cyber secured.

“Cyber Tec Security being a certifying body, understands the importance of compliance and sees the value that our Digitally Aware certificate can bring to their customers, which is why we are excited to announce our partnership with them”.
