Dr Claudia Natanson MBE named as key cybersecurity professional

The UK Cyber Security Council’s Chair of Trustees, Dr Claudia Natanson MBE, has been named the number one cyber security professional in IFSEC Global’s list of influencers in security 2022.

A former nuclear scientist, Dr Natanson now works internationally as an information and cybersecurity professional and consultant. Recognised as a top technology influencer by the Financial Times, she is highly respected as a thought leader internationally and works across diverse industry sectors, FTSE 100, Fortune 500, government and growing organisations.

The IFSEC Global awards are designed to generate positivity across the industry by recognising the talent and efforts of the individuals who are leading the development of the security sector.

In addition to her role as Chair of the UK Cyber Security Council, Dr Natanson is Founder of the Corporate Executive Programme (CEP) – a body that unites senior decision-makers from leading companies and public sector organisations across the world to discuss business impacting risks and security related issues and threats.

She has has served as board, steering committee member and programme chair for the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) and is currently the VP of Information Security at AccuWeather.

Dr Natanson was also awarded an MBE in the recent Queen’s Jubilee Honours list for services to the cyber security profession.

Dr Natanson said: “It’s wonderful to receive this recognition and I’m grateful to have been acknowledged for my work across multiple sectors in bringing cybersecurity to the forefront.

“The Council is working to create opportunities to find new career pathways for those wanting to enter cybersecurity and I hope this helps demonstrate that there are real opportunities for progression for those interested in moving into the profession.”
