Emergency planning exercise to be held at Mosh Club in Leicester

May 13, 2022

On Tuesday 17 May, the Security Industry Authority (SIA) will be running a safety resilience exercise at the Mosh Club in St Nicholas Place, Leicester, with support from local emergency services. The initiative is a practical demonstration of the ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) Awareness and Security e-learning.

The private security industry has an important role in protecting the public. Security operatives can often be the first on the scene in an incident and this exercise will provide a learning environment for door supervisors and nightclub staff to respond to a set of simulated exercises with the support of the emergency services.

The SIA have worked closely with Leicester Police and Leicester City Council in preparation for this event and their common goal is ensuring that going to a nightclub is as safe as possible for customers and those working at the venue.

This event is the continuation of a programme of safety resilience exercises that was started back in 2019.

You are invited to cover the exercise:

Date: Tuesday, 17 May 2022
Time: 2pm photocall and interviews with the SIA and partners prior to live exercise.
3pm – 6pm  live exercise takes place.

If you wish to attend this you should contact the SIA media team [email protected] by end of play Monday, 16 May for a briefing on safety arrangements.
