G4S has published a new video showcasing its collaboration with Shell on the implementation of electric vehicle charging solutions for the G4S fleet in the UK and Ireland.
According to G4S, it has committed to decarbonisation and achieving net-zero by 2050.
In the UK and Ireland, the company’s vehicle fleet is made up of around 2,500 vehicles – from ambulances to patrol cars and cash vans.
The company says that, currently, its fleet generates a large portion of its greenhouse gas emissions, so has therefore been a top priority area to manage and reduce as part of its overall net-zero goals.
By 2030, the organisation aims for 100% of its car fleet in the UK and Ireland to be zero emission and by 2040, it says that the company’s vision is for all vehicles to be powered by electric or other zero carbon alternative fuels.
“A company the size and scale of G4S has a responsibility to lead the way in this area for the entire industry and Shell Fleet Solutions are a vital partner to help take us into the future and keep our fleet on the go,” the company said in a statement.
