GJD has announced the appointment of Michael Dunne as its new General Manager, succeeding Dr Rod Wilson, who has retired after two and a half years in the role.
As an Ava Group company, GJD specialises in risk management technologies used by commercial, industrial, military and government clients.
The company is known in the UK and internationally for its work in designing and manufacturing external detection systems, including detectors, illuminators, lasers and its LoRa wireless platform.
Dunne has over 35 years of experience in the security industry, working in various senior leadership roles, including Managing Director of both Authorised Access Systems Ltd and Safecell Security Limited.
Dunne reportedly possesses expertise in sales, technical advice to engineers, procurement of suppliers, as well as compliance and accreditation.
Dunne commeneted: “Throughout my career, I have focused on driving operational excellence, mentoring teams and delivering customer-focused solutions.
“At GJD, I look forward to supporting the established and highly skilled team already in place, ensuring we continue to build on the company’s strong foundations and deliver strategic growth.”
After selling his business to a PLC in 2023, Dunne has reportedly spent the last couple of years supporting the industry he is passionate about by sharing his experience and knowledge with the new generation of engineers and start-ups entering the security sector.
Seeing the opportunity and potential that GJD offers, Dunne has taken the opportunity to drive GJD through its next period of growth, driven through innovation, improved processes, and further strengthening key business relationships.
