Heras to sponsor Project of the Year award at UK Fencing Industry Awards

March 24, 2022

Heras has announced that it will be sponsoring the award for Project of the Year at this year’s UK Fencing Industry Awards – as the company looks to champion excellence and innovation within the perimeter security industry.

The Doncaster-based company will support the Association of Fencing Industries (AFI) event, which will showcase the very best projects, products and installations.

The awards are set to take place on 13 October 2022 at Twickenham Stadium in London. Heras is urging companies from across the fencing industry to submit entries by the deadline at the end of July.

As well as Project of the Year, the other award categories are Contractor of the Year for four categories of contractors – from contractors with a turnover of £750,000 up to those with a turnover of over £3m and the Richard Corrie Lifetime Contribution.

Speaking about why Heras is throwing its support behind the awards, Sarah Allen – who is Heras’ Material Supply Sales Manager and, along with her father Barry Marsh, has more than 40 years combined experience in the fencing industry – said that the awards are a great platform to show just how innovative the industry is and the levels of excellence within it.

“Heras has a long-standing relationship with the AFI” she said. “We are proud to further this with the sponsorship of the prestigious Project of the Year Award at The Fencing Industry Awards.

“The criteria for entrants of the Project of the Year category are for complex, innovative and challenging projects that have utilised design skills and have a long-standing benefit.

“The Fencing Industry Awards and this category both align seamlessly with Heras’ mission to design, manufacture, install and service perimeter protection solutions across business, community and industry sectors. They also align with our aim to be recognised as Europe’s premium perimeter protection brand, proven by our reliability, commitment and expertise,” Allen added.

Heras’ announcement comes amid a very busy time for the company that has seen it undergo a product simplification strategy with a move towards a simplified range of permanent perimeter protection and entrance control solutions after recognising that the company was offering too much choice to customers and over-burdening its manufacturing lines.

Hot on the heels of this, Heras also announced the launch of the new Delta sliding gate and a significant change to its flagship B700 turnstile.

Allen continued: “It’s been a very busy time for Heras, with lots of positive developments that demonstrate the strength of the business in the UK – and also the support we benefit from being part of Europe’s end-to-end supplier of permanent and mobile perimeter protection solutions.

“The awards will be a great opportunity for us to celebrate the very best of our industry.”
