Heald Ltd has launched its new gate-led hostile vehicle mitigation system, the Matagate.
The new gate solution is said to be built on the company’s Matador bollard system, incorporating its crash-tested design into a gate that restricts both vehicular and pedestrian access.
The Matagate reportedly stands alone as the only hostile vehicle mitigation gate solution on the market that offers a surface-mount installation.
This is said to provide perimeter security in areas where retrofitting such measures might be challenging.
The new gate solution, according to the company, requires no extensive excavation, delivering comparable impact protection without these significant installation requirements.
The gate reportedly utilises Heald’s Matador 3 or 4 system; for example, the Matador 3 gate style is covered by the Matador 3 credentials.
Standout features are said to include various operational methods, such as electromechanical and manual, fully customisable aesthetics and emergency fast operation.
Heald has articulated that where shallow mount installation is possible, Heald’s architectural paving system can be utilised to offer seamless integration with the surrounding landscape.
The Matagate is said to be suitable for a variety of sectors, including, but not limited to, public spaces, commercial, stadia and events, critical national infrastructure, military and government and transport and aerospace.
Debbie Heald MBE, Managing Director, Heald commented: “At Heald, we pride ourselves on developing innovative, market-leading security solutions.
“We identify and meet unmet customer needs, which led to the development of a gate-format product offering the same high level of security as our Matador system.
“The Matagate stands as a world-first surface-mounted, crash-tested gate system, unmatched by any other product on the market and we’re excited to officially launch what is anticipated to be a highly sought-after security solution.”
