IFPO launches Approved Training Center scheme (ATC) and announces Halifax based GPT Academy as the first Approved Training Center in the UK.
Education and certification are central to the International Foundation of Protection Officers’ (IFPOs) mission of professionalising the security sector.
To support learners of the global certifications, CPO (Certified Protection Officer), CSSM (Certified in Security Supervision and Management) and CPOI (Certified Protection Officer Instructor), the IFPO is launching the Approved Training Center scheme (ATC).
All ATCs will be Corporate Members of the IFPO and the people delivering the Training will hold the top level CPOI certification.
IFPO is delighted to announce that the first Approved Training Center in the UK is Halifax based GPT Academy.
GPT already offers a wide range of security and safety training programmes, including those required to hold an SIA licence: it supports many regional and national organisations. GPT Head of Training, Peter Clarke, wanted to be able to deliver the IFPO certifications because it supports his ethos of training security professionals in the UK market. His commitment to creating a better standard of security personnel in the UK security sector is shown throughout his team’s dedication when delivering the SIA course in the UK.
Mike Hurst CPP CPOI, IFPO Europe, Regional Director, welcomed GPT’s appointment as an Approved Training Center, the first in the UK, saying how impressed he was with their commitment to offering security professionals a clear educational path, supporting career development and leading to the ability to deliver better security.
