Finnish lock manufacturer iLOQ has joined the police-backed Secured by Design (SBD), demonstrating its commitment to customer security.
SBD aims to reduce crime and improve the security of buildings to provide safe places to live, work, shop and visit.
SBD’s Police Preferred Specification provides a recognised standard for security products which deter and reduce crime.
A statement from SBD said:
The statement adds: “The power needed to confirm access rights and open locks comes from a smartphone running iLOQ’s app.
“With no batteries or external power source needed, reliable operation is ensured even during power cuts and harsh weather conditions.
“Real-time audit trails and access reports keep track of who has entered which areas and when, in order to help prevent misuse and unauthorised access of premises.
“SBD membership recognises that products have not only been tested to relevant security standards, but are also fully certified by an independent third-party certification body accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).”
