It has recently been announced that Sharyn Morley has been appointed Head of Vehicle Security Services at Insurance & Mobility Solutions (IMS).
Morley – who for the past five years was the head of UK security at Europcar – will begin her role in the Mobility division of IMS on January 11 2021, reporting to Sales Director, Dave Turnock.
Morley will be responsible for leading on security-based service delivery to fleets and mobility businesses across Europe. This includes developing IMS group’s partnership with W4G, a business that focuses on rapid response and repatriation of stolen vehicles.
Turnock commented on the appointment, remarking: “Sharyn is well respected across the industry and will be an excellent ambassador for us among police forces, fleet and mobility businesses and other stakeholder groups. We also expect her to build links with government agencies looking at terrorism and organised crime gangs, both of which utilise the car rental sector for their criminal activity.”
“One of her key tasks will be to build a risk intelligence register which can be embedded into our client-facing systems, including identifying roads with high incidence of vehicle theft and common locations for staged accidents and fraudulent claims. We will capture this data and use it to assist our clients with their total risk management approach.”
Morley also commented: “This is a great opportunity for me to bring the IMS security product set to the attention of many new forums, organisations and channels, where IMS hasn’t yet engaged fully, and where there would be great benefit derived from the adoption of its technologies and approach.”
“There were 113,000 vehicle thefts in the UK last year, and professional criminals who steal cars to order use highly sophisticated technology. A combination of the technology, services and industry experience within IMS will help keep clients one step ahead of professional criminals, across the UK and Europe.”
