Amy Worthy, UK Sales Manager, Morse Watchmans highlights how key customer insights, adaptable security solutions and a focus on long-term operational resilience are shaping the company’s evolution.
During my five years as UK Sales Manager at Morse Watchmans, the company has evolved significantly and several key changes have driven that growth.
One of the most impactful changes was the acquisition of Morse Watchmans by TouchPoint Inc.
Although this occurred a couple of years ago, it has provided a strong platform for expansion and innovation, allowing us to grow both our capabilities and our reach across multiple sectors.
Investing in new technology has also been a major driver of growth.
We have developed a new product that outperforms our existing systems, representing a collaborative effort across the business.
This project has strengthened our expertise and underlined the value of combining technical innovation with operational insight.
In parallel, we have continued to invest in our people, through training and development, as well as recognising and rewarding our teams (which has helped foster loyalty and engagement).
These initiatives support long-term growth within the Morse Watchmans family and across our extended company portfolio.
Alongside this, Morse Watchman’s culture and leadership have increasingly focused on fostering growth and development, not only within the company but also across our extended sister companies, creating a stronger, more resilient business overall.
When I first joined Morse Watchmans, I viewed security primarily as a protective industry.
Over time, I have learned that it is much more than that.
Security is a people and asset-driven risk function that requires both strategic planning and a balance between proactive and reactive measures. This is a message I often share with clients.
For example, being proactive by installing our KeyWatcher systems illustrates the principle that prevention outweighs response and helps organisations mitigate risks before they occur.
Security is no longer just about physical protection.
Digitally networked systems introduce cyber-risks and access management has shifted from on-site personnel to distributed, digital environments.
Hybrid workforces, multiple vendors and integrated platforms create further complexity, meaning that human oversight and operational standards remain critical.
Security underpins operational continuity, protects people and assets and supports long-term growth across all industries.
Electronic key management is not simply a convenience – it is a critical component of any effective security strategy.
Our systems provide accountability, clear audit trails, reduce the risk of lost or misused keys, strengthen compliance and improve operational efficiency.
In this way, security contributes to both safety and operational resilience.
I have always taken a consultative approach with our clients.
In our industry, there is no cookie-cutter solution that fits every problem or challenge, tailored approaches are essential, which is why our systems are custom-built to meet each client’s unique needs.
I focus on understanding clients’ pain points and the areas they want to improve, whether that is security, safety or production efficiency.
Solutions are then designed specifically for their organisation rather than presenting a generic feature set.
This ensures clients can make informed decisions, confident that their concerns have been heard and addressed.
Listening to our customers has highlighted the real challenges they face day to day, including lost keys, lack of accountability and access delays.
In response, Morse Watchman has developed solutions that are user-centric, data-driven and fully customised for each client.
By taking a proactive approach to customer feedback, we ensure our systems address both compliance pressures and operational needs.
Our key management solutions not only secure keys but also reduce administrative burdens and deliver measurable value, reflecting the challenges our clients experience and the insights they provide.
We are fortunate to have a wealth of long-term clients who demonstrate loyalty, trust and help drive growth beyond their own organisations.
I believe this reflects the strong professional relationships I build with clients, focusing on consistency and partnership rather than one-off sales.
For us, reinforcing the importance of a partnership – rather than simply providing a product – is paramount.
Effective key management is not static; it must evolve alongside our clients’ operations.
By building trust and maintaining open communication, we gain a deep understanding of each client’s environment, challenges and goals, enabling us to deliver solutions that truly meet their needs.
Morse Watchman’s growth has evolved from being a product-focused manufacturer to a trusted, cross-industry solutions partner.
We don’t dictate to our clients; instead, we deliver our core products in alignment with the priorities of each market sector.
Each sector, whether healthcare, hospitality or corrections, has unique needs in security, compliance and operations and we adapt our solutions accordingly.
By taking the time to understand how each sector operates, we have been able to shape solutions that truly work.
In healthcare, the focus is on patient safety, staff accessibility and compliance; hospitality demands smooth operations and a seamless guest experience without compromising security; while prisons require the highest levels of control, accountability and reliability.
As global leaders in our niche, our strong product platform allows us to tailor solutions for each market, reinforcing our consultative approach every step of the way.
This adaptability has enabled us to build trusted relationships across diverse industries, deliver consistent value and position Morse Watchman as a flexible and reliable partner.
The biggest challenge for security is managing increasingly complex, connected systems.
Security is no longer just about physical protection.
Digital access, hybrid workforces and integrated platforms create new risks that must be managed alongside traditional security.
Organisations need solutions that provide unified, standardised control while maintaining operational efficiency and human oversight.
Technology presents an opportunity to enhance both insight and action.
When systems deliver usable information (such as access patterns, exceptions and risk trends), teams can plan actions more effectively and focus human involvement where it adds the most value.
It is at this intersection between people and technology that the next generation of security will be defined.
The demand for smarter, integrated solutions reflects this shift.
Organisations seek improved visibility, access control, audit trails, compliance reporting and operational efficiency.
Morse Watchmans is uniquely positioned to meet this demand.
Our systems deliver real-time visibility, ensuring only authorised users can access keys and assets (making accountability non-negotiable).
Innovation at Morse Watchmans is deliberate and precise.
We listen before we design, ensuring our solutions address real operational challenges and support long-term client partnerships.
By setting high standards and delivering practical, real-world advice, we help organisations redefine ‘what good looks like’ across operational security.
We enable compliance to become part of everyday operations rather than an administrative burden.
Beyond security, this approach helps reduce downtime, improve emergency response readiness, support smoother shift changes and promote consistent standards across departments and locations.
Ultimately, Morse Watchmans helps organisations move from basic control to governed, auditable and resilient operations – setting a benchmark others aspire to follow.
Morse Watchmans was established in 1882 and originally focused on improving guard patrol tools by reinventing the traditional time clock used for security rounds with a more accurate, reliable design.
Over the decades, Morse Watchmans evolved from mechanical time recorders to digital solutions.
In the 1990s, listening closely to customers highlighted a gap in how organisations were managing keys (often stored manually with little accountability or traceability).
Responding to that challenge, Morse Watchmans pioneered the KeyWatcher system in 1993, the first electronic key management solution that tracked every key release and return with authorised user information, date and time.
Over the years, systems expanded to manage everything from mechanical keys to electronic access cards and small assets, while software enhancements delivered deeper reporting and audit capabilities.
Building on a heritage of excellent customer service, Morse Watchmans is now evolving beyond traditional asset and key management to deliver smarter, actionable systems that help organisations make better decisions, reduce risk and operate more efficiently, setting the stage for the next chapter in intelligent security.
Morse Watchmans’ heritage is a powerful foundation for where we are headed.
