Luminite has announced that following feedback from larger school estates, Alertex IP Bridges can now be linked, therefore allowing for numerous devices to be installed on site.
The IP bridge connects Alertex devices to a local network enabling a school or university to remotely monitor lockdown devices.
The bridge reports to an Alertex device on which unit has been triggered, allowing for remote tests of the system site wide, as well as individual tests, reporting low battery and signal strength status.
The Alertex device manufactured by Luminite facilitates text and email notifications to key personnel, allowing for larger schools or universities to have an unlimited number of lockdown devices on a site, without location restrictions.
The systems integration allows for users to see activations or check on the health of the systems across the school or university locations within the group, from one place, as long as they are on the same network.
Luminite articulates that the system consists of a master IP bridge device (main zone) and multiple slave devices (each representing a separate zone).
The master bridge serves as the primary control unit, whilst the slave bridge relays information and activates or deactivates as instructed.
Each bridge and the units assigned to that bridge work on a selected frequency to prevent interference and ensure reliable communication.
Frequency changes are made using the BLE terminal app.
Each slave has a unique Device ID and static local IP and is linked via the master IP bridge’s web interface, where it can be assigned a zone name.
The master operates independently if no slaves are connected, covering a single UHF zone.
Adding slaves expands the system, with all devices communicating over the local network.
Users monitor all Alertex devices from the master interface.
