The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) stand at The Security Event attracted visitors from across the country who took advantage of the opportunity to meet face to face with the NSI team.
In addition to welcoming existing NSI approved companies and applicants on to the NSI stand, where discussions took place on the latest industry standards, a large number of visitors with a keen interest in learning more about the benefits of independent certification took the opportunity to meet NSI experts.
Companies who have recently gained approval with NSI took the opportunity to have medal presentations by Richard Jenkins, NSI Chief Executive: The Protector Group – ARC Gold approval; RDS Fire and Security – NACOSS Gold approval; Okto – NACOSS Gold approval; EPG Security Systems – NACOSS Gold approval.
Another highlight was the much loved NSI owl, ‘Cash’, who was as always a big draw at the event posing for numerous selfies and photos with visitors to the NSI stand.
The three day exhibition and conference provided the first opportunity for many to reconnect with industry colleagues and was an ideal opportunity for NSI’s experts to share updates on standards and certification to a wider audience in person.
Richard Jenkins, NSI Chief Executive, delivered the opening presentation in the Fire and Security Installer Theatre with an insight into the increasingly important role of standards in the business environment to maintain safety; Matthew Holliday, NSI Head of Approval Schemes, provided an installer update on alarm confirmation for police response, cyber secure installations and access control; and John Davidson, Approval Schemes Manager (Systems), updated the audience on changes to fire safety standards and certification schemes.
In celebration of NSI’s 50th anniversary, which formally falls in October this year, NSI hosted a drinks reception on its stand on the first day of the event. The reception attracted a great turnout of NSI approved companies and industry stakeholders who raised their glasses in recognition of NSI’s achievements throughout its evolution and the significant contribution it has played in raising standards within the security and fire sectors.
