The Oprema team put on another cracking event for the latest and greatest tech in the security industry.

Oprema’s annual OPSEC event earlier this month in Cardiff saw top suppliers and installers to discuss innovations in the security industry and enjoy themselves in the summer sun.

Exhibitors came up with some innovative ways to showcase their products and attract visitors to their stand.

A firm favourite was CameraMate’s punching machine that had everyone testing their strength.

Dahua were the exclusive sponsors of the event.

Its team brought the innovation van to showcase a range of products including people counting and multi-sensor cameras, as well as thermal AI cameras, fire detection and access control solutions. They also exhibited their new meeting room range, which is now available from Oprema.

There were stands from leading brands including Paxton, Ajax and Texecom. Some exciting pieces of kit included multi-sensor cameras from Bosch, i-PRO and Hanwha.

AJAX showcased their full range of impressive PD6662 compliant wireless intruder alarm products, based on their ultra-secure and reliable Jeweller technology. Camect brought their AI driven video analytics tools.

Guests also had a chance to learn more about CameraMate, a remote diagnostics tool for Dahua NVRs which saves installers from making wasted site visits.

Gareth Williams, Oprema’s Managing Director, said the event went beyond a “formal, boring trade show” but to create one which was relaxed and fun to be a part of.

He added: “We are very passionate about bringing technology to the market and it’s great to have some of our leading manufacturers in one place with their latest innovations.

“There is a free bar and hog roast, so rather than it being just a boring, formal trade show we want people to get together in a relaxed environment, have some fun and also see some new technology.”

OPSEC is always more than just a trade show, and this year did not disappoint. Guests were served a tasty hog roast with all the trimmings, as well as a summery dessert. There was also an open bar in the afternoon which was very popular!

For entertainment, guests were wowed by magician Adam Reeves, a magician who baffled even the most sceptical attendees.

The event also featured a raffle for Oprema’s charity of the year, Sands, which supports anyone affected by neonatal death or stillbirth.

Prizes included a Panasonic sound system, amazon vouchers and a hamper. The raffle raised almost £600 for the charity, which Oprema will continue to support throughout the year.

The night wound up in Heidi’s bar in central Cardiff where everyone enjoyed an open bar courtesy of CQR Security – major fire and security manufacturer – and Yuasa – a world leading battery manufacturer – both of which are Oprema partners.

If you missed out on this year’s event, don’t worry – OPSEC 2023 is already in the works.
