Can you tell us a little about Paige Datacom Solutions and its history?

Paige Datacom Solutions has been focused on low voltage wire and cable solutions for the intelligent building and security markets for more than 30 years.

Paige Datacom Solutions itself was founded in 1958 by a group of friends who realized that many companies needed customized wiring solutions with a service-focused approach, especially the ones operating in complex environments.

Thanks to their vision, Paige Datacom Solutions is now the go-to provider for application-driven products with an operating presence in more than 100 countries and seven North American locations.

Is Paige Datacom purely a cable/wire specialist?

Yes, as specialists in wire and cable, our team is entirely focused on understanding businesses’ applications and helping them find the way to overcome any challenge or obstacle. In instances where an existing solution is feasible, our innovative approach to research and development allows us to bring bespoke solutions that fit businesses and their budgets.

 Outline your job day to day.

As the Vice President of our Datacom division, I’m responsible for business operations across the North American and EMEA markets.

 You attended The Security Event in Birmingham in April – how did you find it?

Paige exhibited at TSE for the first time this year, and we were thrilled to engage with so many enthusiastic installers and designers. The feedback was tremendous and matches the level of excitement we’ve seen for years in the North American market.

This industry has been told for years that extending copper IT networks beyond 100 metres requires us to slow down and install more points of failure, so when you present someone with an alternative that proves that statement wrong and helps save time, money, and space, it’s definitely a game changer! In fact, that’s the name we’ve given our Cat6 that can deliver up to 2.5Gbps and 90W PoE over 200 metres – the GameChanger Cable!

 How did the company perform during the pandemic?

Years before the pandemic hit, we invested strongly in our infrastructure and business continuity plans. As it turns out, our timing was very good, as we were prepared to take advantage of a large increase in demand. Our business has more than doubled since 2019 and our continued growth is driven in part by our GameChanger cable being introduced to new customers around the world.

What are Paige Datacom’s plans in the short to medium term?

Paige continues to expand the vertical and geographic markets we’re in, matching new customers with innovative solutions to help their businesses become more profitable and efficient.
