Perimeter protection by Hanwha Vision and Navtech Radar

Hanwha Vision have announced an integration of its PTZ PLUS camera line with Navtech’s AdvanceGuard radar platform for advanced perimeter protection.

This collaboration is set to deliver a high-value, unified perimeter protection solution that enhances security outcomes, boosts operator efficiency and improves risk management across extensive and complex sites.

Addressing the challenges of perimeter security

The integration of Navtech AdvanceGuard with Hanwha Vision’s PTZ PLUS cameras, including the XNP-6400RW and XNP-C6403RW models is said to unify radar and video into a single automated workflow.

Navtech AdvanceGuard reportedly provides 360-degree high-resolution radar coverage up to a 5km radius per sensor, offering long-range detection that can outperform traditional perimeter sensors and ensure continuous coverage and reliable detection in inclement weather or darkness.

When a radar-defined rule is breached, AdvanceGuard is said to instantly direct the PTZ camera using precise target coordinates, ensuring uninterrupted visual tracking without the need for manual operator control.

The company has stated that this accelerates threat verification and enables organisations to secure expansive perimeters without increasing their monitoring resources.

This reportedly makes the integrated solution ideal for critical and complex sites, such as airports and ports, with wide perimeters to monitor.

It is also said to reduce the need for dense camera networks, lowering capital expenditure and ongoing maintenance demands.

Increased operational efficiency

Advanced AI features in the XNP-6400RW and XNP-C6403RW are said to further improve operational efficiency.

According to the company, AI auto-tracking allows operators to enable a camera to lock onto and track a target with a single right-click.

AI-powered video analytics reportedly classify people and vehicles, allowing operators to remain hands-free to manage other priorities while maintaining accurate, continuous surveillance.

False alarms are said to be reduced using deep learning algorithms that filter out irrelevant information such as shadows, wildlife and wind-blown trees.

This reportedly reduces operator fatigue, improves focus and ensures that security teams only respond to genuine threats.

Object classification is also said to enhance post-event efficiency.

Operators can quickly conduct smart forensic searches to locate specific people or vehicles, improving investigation times and supporting more effective incident resolution.

Intelligent analytics such as line crossing, area intrusion, loitering and appear/disappear events are said to further streamline monitoring across sensitive zones.

Perimeter protection

John Lutz Boorman, Head of Product & Marketing at Hanwha Vision Europe said: “The Hanwha Vision and Navtech Radar integration is an exciting development for security leaders who require dependable, scalable and intelligent perimeter protection.”

“By uniting Hanwha Vision’s industry-leading AI-powered cameras with Navtech’s radar precision, operators benefit from continuous situational awareness while improving their operational efficiency and streamlining their workload.

“Ultimately, helping organisations to strengthen the resilience of their large, critical and complex sites.”
