Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (Police CPI), International Cyber Expo and ITN Productions Industry News have launched a new programme collaboration exploring the vital work being done by businesses and the government to tackle cyber-crime.
Cyber-attacks have been on the rise for years, with some big attacks on major organisations affecting key sectors and vital infrastructure. Safer cyber Spaces looks at how cyber-crime attacks accelerated during the pandemic as the world moved online, allowing criminals to exploit cybersecurity weaknesses. The programme addresses the challenges faced by Police when investigating and preventing cyber-crime, and how police officers are benefitting from specific cyber training to enhance their capabilities and skills against the heightened cyber threats.
Anchored by ITN Productions presenter Sharon Thomas from ITN’s London Studio, the programme follows a unique news-style format featuring key voices from the industry including Minister for Digital Infrastructure, DCMS, Matt Warman, City of London Police, Assistant Commissioner, Angela McLaren, Ciaran Martin, Founding head of National Cyber Security Centre, Simon Newman, Head of Cyber and Business Services, Police Crime Prevention Initiatives and Lisa Ventura, Cyber security expert. The programme also includes independent news items in collaboration with Police CPI and a series of inspirational sponsored profiles led by ITN Productions news reporters filmed on location and remotely.
