Perpetuity Research conduct survey for the private security sector

Security Research Initiative (SRI) under the umbrella company Perpetuity Research has launched a new survey focusing on the private security sector and how it is generally perceived by the public.

SRI comment that the concept of the private security sector is often shaped by archaic stereotypes and a lack of understanding in the realm security.

Whilst some criticisms are valid, the professionalisation of security is growing in evidence presenting that the prior perception does not align with reality.

Private security sector damaged by stereotypes

This is not a negligible issue – a poor image has consequences on the private security sector– such as: difficulties recruiting professionals; being overlooked by others as a potential ‘partner’; being undervalued by procurers and security leaders having less traction than other professionals.

Perpetuity Research is seeking the views of security professionals on:

  • What is the current perception of private security?
  • How does this differ among different groups and in respect of different aspects of private security?
  • What actions would help improve perception?

The aim of the research is to better understand the issues that need to be tackled and what actions are necessary to transform perceptions into reality with the aims of creating a positive image.

Participants can share their views anonymously via SRI‘s survey. It is open to any type of security professional/expert.
