Quality Essential Distribution (QED) is celebrating a quarter of century in business.
The Preston-based firm was established 1997 and started out being run from one of its founder’s garages.
QED is a security distributor offering fast and effective products for people and property.
These include CCTV, access control management, network infrastructure, heat tracking and hygiene control systems, switches, cable and data cabinets.
Co-founders Ian Smith and David Arrowsmith said: “This is an incredible milestone for any company. The business has achieved this success through the hard work, passion, and dedication of our team members and loyal customers.
“In 2020, we made the decision to retire and hand over the reins to Matt Philp who has continued to strengthen existing relationships and make improvements on our strict distribution procedures and attention to detail; and our culture of customer service that exists throughout the entire company.”
Philp said: “It has been a pleasure to work alongside such great guys over the last couple of decades they have truly built a great business and we will continue to grow on the strong foundations they have created.”
Throughout 2022, the company has been celebrating its big birthday which included an invitation bto all staff to take part in a day’s clay pigeon shooting.
It was described by a company spokesman as a “a fantastic day out to celebrate this incredible milestone”.
The spokesman added: “We believe a team that celebrates together stays together. It’s been a tough few years for everyone and we are here to help in our small way and we look forward to celebrating the next 25 years.”
