Diana Miu, Digital Content Creator at TAKEX highlights how evolving security needs are driving demand for perimeter-first solutions.
I’m the Digital Content Creator at TAKEX, responsible for shaping and delivering marketing content across EMEA, Australia and the US.
As one of the newest members of the team, I focus on developing global campaigns and producing engaging content, from design to articles and video, supporting a brand that’s been at the forefront of perimeter detection and sensor technology for over 60 years.
MX-12FRAM is a fully battery-operated, dual-zone PIR sensor designed to provide reliable perimeter intrusion detection in a wide range of outdoor environments.
Offering 12m coverage across a 180° field of view, it’s best suited to sites where running power is impractical, delivering flexible protection without the need for wired installation.
Its dual-zone detection system, combined with independently adjustable left and right coverage from 2m to 12m, allows installers to tailor the sensor precisely to the layout of each application, ensuring accurate detection while minimising false alarms.
With universal compatibility for third-party wireless systems, MX-12FRAM integrates easily into existing security setups.
It is also built for long-term, dependable performance, powered by a single CR123A battery with up to five years of operational life.
Engineered to meet Grade 2 security standards, MX-12FRAM can protect higher-risk properties against more determined or technically capable intruders.
MX-12FRAM incorporates multiple layers of anti-tamper protection to maintain system integrity.
First, it features sophisticated anti-masking technology with near-lens awareness.
This detects attempts to obscure or block the sensor, such as spraying, covering or placing objects like plastic bottles over the lens and activates an alarm if interference is detected.
Second, the device is equipped with both front and back tamper switches.
These trigger alerts if the unit is opened, removed or interfered with, ensuring protection against physical attacks or attempted theft at any time.
Yes, and we’re already seeing that shift happen.
There’s a clear move towards perimeter-first security, with both businesses and homeowners wanting to detect a threat before it ever reaches a building, rather than relying purely on internal alarm systems.
However, the technology itself has come a long way.
Features like dual-zone detection, anti-masking and much stronger resistance to false alarms have tackled many of the traditional challenges of outdoor deployment.
As reliability improves, so does trust in these systems.
Another factor is how well outdoor sensors now fit into the wider security ecosystem.
Integration with CCTV, smart alarms and remote monitoring means a single detection can trigger cameras, analytics and real-time alerts, making the entire system more responsive and effective.
Add to that the ongoing concerns around property crime, protection of critical infrastructure and even lone worker safety and it’s clear why demand is increasing across both residential and commercial markets.
