Securitas UK's STARS programme celebrates global growth milestone

Securitas UK is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its STARS programme, marking a decade of innovation in front‑of‑house security and service delivery.

Launched in 2016, STARS has grown from a small initiative into a global service operating across 27 countries.

Today, the programme reportedly supports 89 clients worldwide and is delivered by more than 900 trained professionals, with support from over 20 global trainers.

According to Securitas UK the milestone highlights its continued commitment to raising standards in front‑of‑house services; combining reception excellence with a visible, professional security presence.

In a massive contrast to the security industry standard, 60% of STARS employees are reportedly female – a statistic usually representing 12% when compared with men.

STARS programme

According to the company, its STARS programme is built on a foundation of SIA-licensed personnel supported by training focused on customer service excellence.

The programme reportedly covers a range of transferable skills applicable across multiple industries, including guest profiling, access control, counter-terrorism awareness, fire safety and bomb threat protocols.

The company has stated that participants are required to complete an annual refresher course to maintain their STARS status, ensuring that standards remain consistent over time.

Additional modules can include emergency first aid and fire marshalling, alongside more specialised training areas such as neurodiversity awareness, deaf and disability inclusion and working with therapy dogs.

It is also reported that the programme has evolved in response to changing client requirements and global challenges, incorporating a blend of e-learning, virtual training and on-site mentoring.

According to the company, this approach has enabled the STARS programme to scale while maintaining its emphasis on high standards and intensive engagement.

More recently, the company highlighted that training content has been further adapted to support inclusive and accessible workplaces, with a growing focus on accessibility, neurodiversity and inclusive customer service practices.

Delivering seamless and discreet security protection

Developed by Jacey Bloomberg, now Director of STARS, the programme was reportedly created to address the changing role of reception and front‑of‑house teams, blending customer experience with proactive discreet security-enhanced site protection.

Bloomberg stated: “What began as an idea is now a globally recognised service delivering real value for both our clients and our people.

“We are incredibly proud of how far the programme has come and excited about the future.”
