Security Minds Matter, the industry initiative to improve mental health provision for frontline security professionals has named two new appointments to its Steering Committee, Darcy Fletcher CMgr and Katie Pocock MSc. 

Fletcher is a HCPC registered paramedic with nearly five years post registration experience.  

Having recently finished her MSc in Disaster management and resilience she transferred into the security industry.  

Fletcher has deliveredtraining that has been OSPA nominated for Training Initiative of the Year (2024). She also acts as as a wellbeing ambassador and fore fronts a health, safety and wellbeing strategy group and has since given SME seminars on mental health and resilience. 

This is supported by her status a Chartered Manager with the CMI specialising in strategic management and leadership at level 7.  

Support for Security Minds Matter 

Pocock is a full-time writer with a background in psychology, earning a BSc in Psychology with Neuroscience from the University of Sussex and an MSc in Clinical Neuropsychiatry from King’s College London.  

During her BSc she spent a year in the US studying additional subjects such as journalism and creative writing at Northern Arizona University.  

She then gained experience as a licensed frontline security officer for a year, before pivoting back into psychology to train as a Clinical Associate Psychologist in the NHS.  

Recently, Pocock has settled into her career in writing and is merging her previous experience to support mental health initiatives in the security industry.
