Two new senior appointments have completed the executive leadership team at Serbus, the newly unified brand dedicated to connecting and protecting the UK’s critical national services.

Backed by ‘buy and build’ investors Aliter Capital and formed from the integration of ITM Communications, Bates IT and Serbus Limited, the company is said to build and maintain exceptionally secure, highly resilient communications infrastructure, so that the information and operations of vital services are always available across its core sectors of government, enterprise, health, defence, data centre and industrial.

Jonathan Kay joins Serbus as Group Chief Finance Officer and Roddy Wilson joins as Chief Information and Security Officer (CISO).

Financial leadership

According to the company, Kay joins with more than 25 years’ experience in financial leadership within private equity-backed technology businesses.

Formerly Group CFO at Node4, he has reportedly operated across IT managed services and data centres,  acquiring and integrating multiple businesses and supporting several successful exits.

His extensive experience is said to play a key role in steering Serbus’ financial strategy as it continues to scale.

Technical authority

According to Serbus, Wilson is responsible for technical and engineering capabilities across the company, combining strategic vision, technical authority and dual use innovation to drive secure product development.

He reportedly joins following more than 30 years’ experience in the British Army, serving as a senior Royal Signals officer, developing and delivering mission critical secure communication capabilities to enable special operations and NATO missions worldwide.

The company has stated that these two appointments complete the company’s six strong executive leadership team and closely follow the recent appointments of Chief Revenue Officer Max Baldwin, Chief Delivery Officer Paul Goodbrand and HR Director Lesley Purdie.
