British threat detection specialist Silent Sentinel has been awarded a contract by Kongsberg Norcontrol to provide long-range thermal cameras for littoral security at live-fire testing sites on the Swedish coastline.
As part of the company’s first ever contract with Kongsberg Norcontrol, a leading provider in maritime surveillance, Silent Sentinel will be providing Jaegar platforms to be used by the Swedish Armed Forces in providing advanced detection of unknown vessels, maintaining safety and security, and alerting operators to potential threats.
The Jaegars will be equipped with Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) and purpose-built cold-starter kits to ensure the platforms’ rapid functionality in colder climates such as those of harsh Scandinavian winters. Like all Silent Sentinel products, the Jaegar is designed to retain its high performance in the harshest and most challenging environments.
The Jaegar platform features a unique through-shaft which enables fixed payloads to be mounted above the Pan-Tilt director. Silent Sentinel platforms can be seamlessly integrated into existing threat detection networks and are designed with modularity in mind, offering next-generation technology as standard for customers and end users.
James Longcroft, Sales Director at Silent Sentinel said: “This new contract with Kongsberg is a great opportunity for Silent Sentinel, not only to strengthen our ties with the Northern European market, but also to provide our cutting-edge Jaegar platforms for maritime security in a challenging environment.”
