Suresh Peri, Head of Commercial and Technical at Mul-T-Lock UK discusses one of the company’s major projects.

Can you provide us with an overview of the products Mul-T-Lock offers?

Mul-T-Lock is a specialist provider of high security protection, ranging from patented mechanical cylinder platforms through to wire-free electromechanical access control security solutions.

Our extensive range of locking and access control solutions are tailored for every type of customer, for residential users as well as large commercial clients in sectors such healthcare, education, utilities, commercial buildings, retail and hospitality, combatting commercial vehicle and rural crime.

What makes Mul-T-Lock stand out in such a competitive marketplace?

Mul-T-Lock is able to take a holistic approach to client security before defining the appropriate combination of security products. Our starting point is always to understand the full detail of a security enquiry – the who, what, where, when, how and why? What is the end user specifically trying to achieve by sourcing new security?

A critical component of this is also to consider the budget, time and resource allocations presented.  We know all of these aspects will be carefully considered to see how best to deliver, especially in commercial environments where the need to understand the “new normal”, hybrid working climates will be most critical.

From this, a bespoke security solution can be created, starting with just one door and then incorporating security measures into a whole site or multiple sites over a chosen period of time in line with maintenance needs and planned development. By carrying out extensive research first, our network of security specialists have each been able to create bespoke security solutions that are scalable and easily managed to suit individual applications.

Can you tell us more about one of your recent projects?

Mul-T-Lock has provided all seven of Barry’s studios in London with its eCLIQ locks and over 100 accompanying keys to manage access rights across each studio.

Founded in 1998 in West Hollywood, Barry’s fitness classes soon became known throughout the world, with studios opening up across the US, Canada the Middle East and throughout Europe. Today, there are over 140,000 global members of Barry’s FitFam, with eight boutique studios in the UK.

London-based Astoria Fire and Security Ltd recommended Mul-T-Lock’s eCLIQ access control solution to all seven of Barry’s studios throughout London to help combat lost keys and achieve complex access requirements.

How does Mul-T-Lock work with locksmiths?

Mul-T-Lock’s heritage is partnering with locksmiths across the UK, known as operating ‘in business together’ to provide the necessary sales, marketing and technical support to ensure we can offer a complete security solution; this happens right from the initial design and specification of a mechanical or access control system. It involves our support team working to produce a tailored master key suite where required, through to utilising our extensive locksmith network for installation purposes and ongoing monitoring and maintenance.

What we also offer is dedicated training for our locksmith partners so that we can continue to evolve, not only our product offerings, but also our ability to install to fit with increasing demands for remote and mobile-first security solutions.

What are your plans for the next 12 months?

Mul-T-Lock has recently gone through an extensive rebranding programme – this is all to ensure clarity of our offering, throughout our portfolio. Our aim is to guide aspirations for customer experience and meet ever-evolving requirements when it comes to security.  We also must be best placed to continue our journey of innovation and show support for futureproof solutions, especially anticipating convenient solutions that keep people powered and protected wherever they are.
