The Security Event (TSE), the UK’s premier commercial, enterprise, and domestic security exhibition, returns to the NEC Birmingham from 30 April – 2 May 2024.

Now in its fifth year, The Security Event 2024 promises an expanded showcase of exclusive products and launches, featuring the latest security solutions from prominent names in the industry.

With over 60 hours of accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) content, attendees will gain insights into the evolving security landscape, new regulations, and practical knowledge for installations and protection. 

Supported by key global security brands like Anixer, Assa Abloy, Comelit, Honeywell, TDSI, Texecom, Tyco, and Videcon, TSE will boast a diverse lineup of exhibitors, including newcomers, with over 350 exhibitors covering an impressive 15,000+ sqm.

This marks a 60% increase in exhibitors from the previous edition in 2023, showcasing 10,000+ products and solutions.

The event is expected to draw over 14,000 security professionals, including installers, integrators, consultants and end-users. 

Developed with input from major industry players, The Security Event aims to be a world-class exhibition supporting UK security professionals.

The event will offer valuable networking opportunities, live product demonstrations and access to the latest technologies from leading security solution providers.

What’s new? 

New additions to the 2024 event include the Live Testing Lab in association with The Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB).

This will provide visitors with a unique opportunity to witness a team of professional forced entry specialists engaging with a diverse range of physical security products.

From windows to fencing and door sets, the live demonstrations will showcase the resilience and effectiveness of these products in the face of simulated intrusion scenarios. 

LPCB collaborates with industry partners to deliver the latest advancements in physical perimeter protection, featuring cutting-edge solutions like bollards, barriers, gates, fencing, locks, and more.

As a major player in security certification, LPCB presents a comprehensive display of innovative security solutions through esteemed manufacturer partnerships. 

Established in the 1880s, LPCB is a globally recognised third-party certification body for fire safety and security products and services.

Delivered by BRE, the UK’s leading independent authority, LPCB certification is synonymous with excellence.

Back for 2024, Professional Security Officer Live is geared towards the latest policies, evolving demands, high-risk environments and challenges facing security guarding today. Featuring pivotal keynote speakers, case studies and presentations, visitors will boost their working knowledge and keep up-to-date with crucial security guarding issues, regulations and guidance at this must-see conference. 

The Designing Out Crime Zone, in association with Secured by Design, will showcase the latest police techniques to reduce crime and keep local communities safe, providing a unique opportunity to discover best practice and learn about this important national police crime prevention initiative.

Join the Designing Out Crime Theatre to hear from leading experts offering a deep dive into the techniques and ideas behind this initiative. 

The Forum in partnership with Access Control Executive Brief and hosted by Lee Odess, CEO of The Executive Brief is designed to showcase the latest advancements, evolving challenges, and cutting-edge technologies in access control systems.  

The education programme includes a series of seminars covering topics such as cyber security, physical security, risk management, and emergency preparedness.

Offering an immersive and interactive zone dedicated to the security engineers of tomorrow, join us for the WorldSkills UK National Qualifiers and cheer on security trainees as they take part in technical specification contests.

Watch as the apprentices test their working knowledge of system standards as well as their ability to identify and solve problems faced on a day-to-day basis as engineers, see the next generation of security professionals in action. 

The Electronic Security Systems task is designed to reflect the role of an installation engineer working within the sector and standards that are expected within this industry.

This task will test competitors working knowledge of system standards as well as their ability to identify and solve problems faced on a day-to-day basis as engineers. 

Each competitor will take over a part installed Intrusion detection system and a video surveillance System, finish the installation in accordance with the specifications and drawings, carry out operational functional and electrical testing on each system, and commission each system to industry standards and codes of practice as well as completing any associated paperwork. 

The Fire Detection & Alarm Systems task is designed to reflect the role of an installation engineer working within the alarm systems sector and the standards that are expected within the industry.  

Again each competitor will take over a part installed fire alarm system, finish the installation in accordance with the specifications and drawings, carry out operational functional and electrical testing on each system and commission each system to industry standards and codes of practice as well as completing any associated paperwork. 

The Security & Safety Entrepreneur Awards (SSEAs) recognise and celebrate entrepreneurs in start-ups and established businesses who are making significant contributions to the field of protecting people, organisations, places and other assets.

The Security Event facilitates networking through CONNECT+ Live, a hosted meeting programme matching visitors with exhibitors based on their needs.

The Security Event is part of The Safety & Security Series, co-located with four other industry-leading events: The Fire Safety Event, The Health & Safety Event, The Workplace Event and National Cyber Security Show.
