Vista Panels, the uPVC and composite door supplier, has renewed its membership with the official police security initiative, Secured by Design (SBD).

Vista has achieved Police Preferred Specification (PPS) on a range of doors, locks and hardware.

The company says it prides itself the ability to ensure products are manufactured to meet the requirements of all the latest industry standards, including PAS24:2016 CE marked/UKAS marked and ISO relevant ISO standards.

Having been proud SBD members for the last 16 years, the firm continues to demonstrate its “dedication and commitment to supplying their customers both within social housing and newbuild properties” with reliable and secure doors.

Ian Smith, Sales Manager at Vista Panels said:”Making door sets to the SBD standard is a must for us as a company, our customers expect nothing less from us.

“Whether it is for a commercial client or domestic replacement security is always at the top of our list of requirements so the option to upgrade to SBD specification is always there for them”.

Secured by Design is owned by the UK Police Service and works to improve the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings, with the specific aim to reduce crime and help people live more safely.

SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK.

For over 30 years, Secured by Design’s product-based accreditation scheme – the Police Preferred Specification has and continues to provide a recognised standard for all security related products that can both deter and reduce crime.

SBD works alongside a range of manufacturers and standards authorities to ensure that security standards are current and up to date with emerging criminal trends.

With over one million homes built to SBD standards, witnessing reductions in crime of up to 87%, SBD plays a hugely significant role in the process of designing out crime by good design.

As a result, sustainable reductions in crime have been witnessed each and every year.

Established in 1995, Vista has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing door products in the UK from their Wirral-based manufacturing plant facility.

Investing in new machinery and training has aided the firm in maintaining a consistent level of quality, whilst simultaneously providing their fabricators and installers with even more key selling points to consumers in the domestic and commercial markets.

There are many benefits of opting for Vista’s high-quality, low maintenance composite doors.

Not only do they include a five-hook lock, rigid polymer subframe, high-density CFC-free polyurethane foam core, impact resistant GPR skin and triple seal outer frame, but they are also fitted with an anti-snap, bump, pick and drill cylinder for ultimate security.

Vista Panel’s XtremeDoors are high spec composite doors with thermal efficiency and weatherproofing.

In fact, their composite doors are 19% more thermally efficient than a solid timber core composite.

They also comply with recently updated Part L requirements on lower U-Values of 1.4 W/m2K or under.

There are also various upgrades to glass options that increase the thermal performance of the door, given the current climate, Vista’s composite doors are perfect for keeping your home warmer, in-turn helping to reduce energy usage and costs.

Hazel Goss, Development Officer at Secured by Design said: “It was a pleasure to renew Vista Panels membership with us, as one of my older member companies joining back in 2006, they have continued to offer many excellent products and I am looking forward to many more years working alongside them”.

SBD also retains close links with standards authorities and certification bodies to ensure it remains up to date with emerging criminal trends.
